Crosstalk and Noise Characteristics of Non-linear Optical Loop Mirror Demultiplexer and Terahertz Optical Asymmetric Demultiplexer
Crosstalk and noise characteristics of non-linear all optical loop mirror (NOLM) demultiplexer and terahertz optical asymmetric demultiplexer (TOAD) are investigated in this paper. The best demultiplexing conditions are studied in order to minimise the crosstalk and noise, and to achieve reduced power penalty for both all-optical demultiplexing schemes.
متن کاملOptical computation using residue arithmetic.
Using residue arithmetic it is possible to perform additions, subtractions, multiplications, and polynomial evaluation without the necessity for carry operations. Calculations can, therefore, be performed in a fully parallel manner. Several different optical methods for performing residue arithmetic operations are described. A possible combination of such methods to form a matrix vector multipl...
متن کاملDesign of Optical Demultiplexer using Arrayed Waveguide Grating
Optical demultiplexers are used to receive multiple frequency signal from an optical fiber and to split it into its different frequency components. Arrayed waveguide gratings can be used to design an optical demultiplexer and works on the principle of interferometry. This paper presents the design of optical demultiplexer for an optical signal composed of eight frequency components. Simulation ...
متن کاملNovel Four-Channel All Optical Demultiplexer Based on Square PhCRR for Using WDM Applications
Ring resonators have always been referred to as a highly flexible structurefor designing optical devices. In this study, we have designed and simulation a fourchannel optical demultiplexer using square photonic crystal ring resonator. The squarelattice constant for this purpose structure is used. The purposed structure has an averagecrosstalk, transmission coefficient, q...
متن کاملOptical modular arithmetic
Nanoscale integrated photonic devices and circuits offer a path to ultra-low power computation at the few-photon level. Here we propose an optical circuit that performs a ubiquitous operation: the controlled, random-access readout of a collection of stored memory phases or, equivalently, the computation of the inner product of a vector of phases with a binary “selector” vector, where the arithm...
